Full scope full service
10 windows and 1 door on a home in central Bozeman. The old units were a hodge-podge of different colors, types, and even some inserts.
We replaced these old vinyl windows with Pella Impervia fiberglass units, complete frames with new-construction flanges.
Removing the old windows and installing new ones is not the bulk of the work - it actually goes pretty quick. Most of the work is the odds and ends before, during, and after the replacement. Little bits of scope including:
Staging materials, units, and prepping the site (like masking off rooms for dust)
Prepping/modifying rough openings and flashing sills
Removing trims and siding
Painting new trims, fixing siding as required
Properly flashing new windows, insulating, caulking, more caulking, and touch-ups
Repairing some significant rot at the back door, where the deck ledger wasnβt properly sealed and flashed. See the pictures below to see how much rot can hide behind a deck ledger
Cleanup and touch-ups - this part can feel like it takes forever, but itβs all necessary!
Specialty caulking, like the special sanded caulk at the bricks
Strange existing conditions, like the wire that was run through the old door frame
